Art Without Barriers
Painted Beauty is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to create an accessible, supportive art studio where individuals with disabilities can experience uninhibited artistic expression.
We are currently gathering community input, developing partnerships, identifying potential participants and volunteers, and building the foundation for our first studio location.
What Are We Building?
Painted Beauty is developing a welcoming, fully accessible art studio where artists with disabilities can create freely, explore their individual artistic voices, and receive the support they need without having their creativity directed or limited.
Accessible Creative Space
Adaptable workstations, accessible tools, non-toxic materials, storage for works in progress, and an environment designed with different physical and sensory needs in mind.
Freedom of Expression
A place where there is no single “right” way to make art and every artist is encouraged to discover what they have inside them.
Connection and Community
Open studio time, classes taught by local artists, opportunities for caregivers and support professionals to participate, and a small gallery celebrating the artists’ work.
“Painted Beauty is not about telling an artist what their work should look like, but about removing barriers and providing the space, support, and freedom for each person to discover what they can create.”
